Warming Center ACTIVATION season is Nov.1 - March 31

Warming Center Program
Warming Center ensures that no one has to sleep outside on the worst nights of winter.
There are far too few traditional shelter beds and not everyone can access them when and where they need to. On nights of extreme temperature and rain, we create the opportunity for everyone who needs it, to seek warm, clean, safe and dignifying shelter. With grant support from Santa Cruz County, EFSP, City of Santa Cruz, Kaiser Permanente, Sisters of the Holy Names, and Association of Faith Communities, Community Foundation, etc. we've been able to place a highest priority on people with mobility and mental health challenges.
Emergency Information Hotline: (831) 246-1234
The program activates when temperature forecasts reach these levels:
-
39° (forecasted 48hours earlier)
-
Extreme rain events (forecast of 1.0" one day; 0.75" in each of two days; 0.5" in each of three days)
Warming Center Program is a volunteer based, community funded program
We're only able to provide the level of service equal to the amount of community support that we get
